Cllr Paul Baines is Ward Member for Anstey, for Charnwood Borough Council, and Mayor of Charnwood for 2021-2022. He was elected first in December 2018 in a council by-election, then again 6 months later in May 2019!

As we reported in the last edition of Your Local, we were both very saddened to hear of the passing of one of our fellow borough councillors, Gill Bolton. Gill had represented the Shelthorpe Ward since May 2019. Gill sadly passed away on 19th October 2021, peacefully at home.
Charnwood Borough Council has produced a draft budget for 2022/23 which will be considered by Cabinet on December 9.
The Council’s lead member for finance, Cllr Tom Barkley, says the budget is another step on the Council’s journey towards improving its financial sustainability which will be the bed
