I hope you all managed to have some time together with family and friends. I had a busy Christmas with my family but a relaxing New Year, I have recharged my batteries and I am ready for 2023.

At the end of October, I attended the first Leicester ‘Hope Hack’ at the Peepul Centre. ‘Hope Hacks’ are a series of events being run across the UK to gather the collective views of young people on issues like safe spaces, fairness and equality, and services for young people.

Following the sad passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, I have attended many civic events to share my grief with friends and colleagues and give thanks for the life of the Queen.

There is new planning application proposed for 150 houses to the rear of existing properties off Markfield Lane, Newtown Linford.
This is in addition to the 93 houses proposed on Leicester Road on the other side of the A50 roundabout.

First Bus have announced timetable changes to some of their bus services which takes effect week commencing 28th August 2022.
The main difference is that the buses will move from every 15 minutes to every 20 minutes.

National Highways England have now responded to Charnwood Borough Council with regards to all five planning applications.

As I sit here writing this report, it is the first of two days of very high temperatures. We are seeing temperatures of nearly 40 degrees in the UK. I hope you all managed to stay safe and keep hydrated.
