£4 million has been confirmed for exciting projects to make Charnwood’s future brighter.
Charnwood Borough Council has been working with communities in the Charnwood area to draw up the 'Future Charnwood Investment Plan' to secure funding from Government under the 'UK Shared Prosperity Fund'.
The 'UK Shared Prosperity Fund' is the central pillar of the UK Government's 'Levelling Up' agenda.
The plan comprises 10 local projects which will see improvements to parks and sports facilities, support for town centres, and the backing of a project to improve the well-being, life chances, and employability skills of young people, in the Charnwood area.
There were a total of 53 applications from villages within the area worth a total of £15 million. Charnwood council used a scoring process against criteria to choose the 10 projects.
Anstey has been chosen as one of the village projects from the 53 applications.
Deborah said,
"We are pleased that Anstey has been approved for some of the funding so that Jubilee Hall can be extended to increase its usage by local community groups".
Paul said,
"This is a huge achievement for Anstey residents and will improve our much-needed local facilities in our village".
