Paul, Deborah and David were very pleased to attend the ‘official’ opening of the Loughborough Building Society in The Nook on Wednesday 20th July.
The official ribbon cutting was carried out by Charnwood Borough Council, Deputy Mayor Margaret Smidowicz.
Local businesses and individuals were invited for a tour of the branch and refreshments were taken in the Nook Corner Café next door.
The team handed out some small gifts to those attending outside the branch to celebrate their opening, to help spread the word.
The branch had a soft launch on 1st June to ensure everything was in place and working properly.
During June the branch had 153 visitors which allowed the team to get to know and understand what Anstey and the wider community need from the branch. They are now able to promote their services locally.
The branch has advised Deborah, David and Paul that they have already had some lovely customers who have expressed how much they have benefited from their personal service, by being able to call in and spend time talking to a friendly face.
Deborah said "I was very pleased to hear that the branch plans on working closely with the Post Office at Londis next door, so that local residents can have all their financial needs dealt with within the village"
David said "I am so pleased to see that we now have a local building society branch back in Anstey so that local residents can have their banking needs all within easy reach. 'The Loughborough' are providing a much needed service after we had the Nationwide Building Society close over one year ago"
Paul said "I am absolutley delighted to have 'The Loughborough' in the village offering such a wide range of financial services to our local communities and I wish them every success"
