We have received numerous inquiries as to how refugees arriving in the country can be linked with offers of help in Leicestershire.
The County Council is working with the Government endorsed Reset, which is providing a matching and training service to pair sponsors and refugees under the UK Government’s “Homes for Ukraine” scheme, with support from the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC).

It should be noted that whilst it will be necessary to carry out certain checks (e.g. DBS, quality of accommodation) these should not prevent refugees from being placed immediately once they arrive in Leicestershire and the Council’s Refugee Team is working closely with partners to ensure this can be done.
