We have been updated by Post Office Counters Corporate Affairs, Brand & Communications today and are advised that the Post Office in Anstey will be closing sometime next week.
We are of course extremely disappointed to hear this news.
However, as you can see from the email below they are working hard to find a replacement Post Master and location for a new post office in Anstey.
We will notify you as soon as we get further updated information from Post Office Counters.

"Dear Cllr Taylor,
Further to our previous correspondence regarding Anstey Post Office.
As you know we have been maintaining the Post Office service in Anstey on a temporary basis until a new postmaster is appointed.
However, we have been advised today that unfortunately the branch will be closing next week as the premises will be withdrawn for Post Office use.
The date is still to be agreed and we will contact you again once it’s confirmed.
I sincerely apologise to our customers who will be traveling further to access our services from next week, the nearest alternative Post Offices are at Groby and Barley Croft. I’m also very sorry that this has happened at short notice.
We have been advertising for a new postmaster and will update you as soon as we have further news"
