Cllr Deborah Taylor and Cllr Paul Baines, Ward Councillors for Anstey have submitted their comments on the planning application P/21/2668/2 – 200 Houses - Land South of Groby Road
Their main concerns in relation to the applications are as follows:
- Concerns over the impact on traffic, particularly on traffic volumes directed at The Nook
- Concerns over the current lack of infrastructure (and no detail in applications on what infrastructure would be put in place to support the development)
- Concerns over the number of new homes proposed and Anstey becoming over-developed and losing its village character
- Concerns regarding the loss of green space and impact on wildlife
- Concerns over the proposed primary school location
- No bungalows proposed
- Lack of available parking in the service centre
- Demand on our essential services
- Loss of agricultural land.
Their submitted comments can be found here.

P/21/2358/2 for the 150 houses
P/21/2359/2 for the 350 houses.
P/21/2668/2 for the 200 houses
P/20/2251/2 for the 100 houses
P/20/2252/2 for the 120 houses
We are asking for as many residents as possible to submit their comments on these applications.
We consider that these applications will be an over development of Anstey as we do not have the infrastructure in place to support any more additional houses.
