It has been very hectic over the last month or so with the local elections. Council business slows down, whilst the campaigning continues. All the information about the local elections is included in our borough report in this month’s Your Local edition.

In addition to my regular duties, my diary has been very full this month! On Tuesday 21st February, I welcomed some of our guests from Ukraine and their hosts to County Hall to mark the one-year anniversary of the war in Ukraine.
I attended the ‘opening’ of the new allotment site on Groby Road, Anstey on Saturday 21st January. This land has finally been transferred to Anstey Parish Council from the developers, after a very long delay, due to legal issues.

I hope you all managed to have some time together with family and friends. I had a busy Christmas with my family but a relaxing New Year, I have recharged my batteries and I am ready for 2023.
